Description:
The Blue Island energy plan project began as a juried community profile presentation for the city, constituting a course midterm. The energy mandate personally required undertaking unfamiliar topics, such as weatherization, solar irradiation, and energy cost burdens. Early on, a visual team identity, project branding, and style guide was developed collaboratively.
The community profile was completed by eight team members, but presented by four. Jurors and professors complimented sections on energy cost burdens for minorities and its narratives, as well as the cohesion of the design language used.
Responsibilities:
- Created entire presentation master slide templates and color profile, with decisions on typology, branding, and mastheads.
- Presented on slides for energy burden, energy type, and household energy limitations.
- Assisted in the knowledge translation of additional concepts, such as the planning process chart.
The creation of a team, project, and document identity was among the fundamental professional departures between the Blue Island team and other sections. Its development represents compromise and informed iconographic design that resulted in an instantly recognizable brand. A portion of the design process is shown here:
