This project reviewed the changes in Chicago’s demography in the 2020 Decennial Census and was published as a special report on how the Chicago Loop, in particular, was leading population growth in the city. The project involved analyzing the census results for specific community areas and census tracts and confirming numbers with local agencies.

The collection of comparison data with the 2000 and 2010 censuses was necessary to build a marketing strategy behind Downtown Chicago’s vitality. • Mapped and symbolized the data, showing percent changes between 2010 and 2020 census results.
  • Wrote data analysis and map callouts on methodology and featured points.
  • Presented findings to a committee on inclusion, diversity, equity, and access and collaborated with marketing and communications team on publication.
