Description:

This deliverable is a monthly publication on the Chicago Loop’s economic recovery from the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. Data for pedestrian activity, office occupancy, CTA and Metra ridership, parking reservations, and hotel occupancy are collected, analyzed, stylized and presented to the business community. Involving quick turnaround and team collaboration, the reports are enhanced by quotes from industry professionals and frequently picked up by media.

The reports include careful documentation of evolving conditions in downtown activity, making sure publicized narratives are transparent on the pandemic recovery. Design and outreach collaboration with a marketing and communications team was essential in proofreading, reviewing, and releasing successful advisories.

Responsibilities:

  • Collected data for eight distinct activities representative of the Chicago Loop’s COVID-19 recovery.
  • Wrote data analyses about monthly trends, comparison time intervals, and time and place contexts for each trendline.
  • Created and stylized published report, including data visualizations, figure representation, and color profiles in accordance to company style guides.
  • Collaborated with marketing staff to add perspectives from industry professionals into the reports and to review membership feedback and media coverage.
